Our take
The VG249Q offers great specs for budget gaming: a 23.8-inch 1080p IPS panel with 144Hz and 1ms response. The IPS panel provides good colors and viewing angles. However, caveats abound: no stand is included, so you'll need to mount it or buy a stand separately. Also missing the DisplayPort cable. The 250 cd/m² brightness is average, and the 1000:1 contrast is typical. At $130, it's a good deal if you have a VESA mount, but factor in the extra cost for accessories.
